For those who are still following this case…
The Hickman faith healing trial continues:
The defense, realizing that the honest testimony of the defendants (namely, that they did consider their child’s death “the will of God”, and that Shannon Hickman would not have called 911 without her husband’s permission), has asked the judge’s permission to let the jury consider a lesser charge.
It sounds like they know they’re going to lose, and are looking to keep this couple out of jail as much as possible. While I feel sorry for them, there are the children currently alive, who could remain that way if their parents could somehow be convinced to take them to the ER when they are desperately ill.
p.s. If my child were dying, any human being standing between me and the phone, including my husband, would be trampled.
